Summer heat came to the Old Pueblo this year with a bang! It is easy to get dehydrated in this weather especially if you work outside. Along with drinking plenty of water, we recommend enjoying some watermelon all throughout the summer. Did you know this sweet summertime treat is high in potassium? In fact, it rivals bananas in potassium content. Being one of the essential electrolytes in our bodies it helps to regulate nerve, muscle, and cellular function. Watermelon is also high in vitamins C and A. We suggest cubing up a whole watermelon and keeping it in the fridge for a sweet and refreshing summer snack.
